West Brom news as Grady Diangana hopefully back in training today

West Brom attacker Grady Diangana is expected to make his return from injury on Monday 5 December as Carlos Corberan’s side return to training in England.

The 24-year-old has been an ever-present for the Baggies this season, having made 19 appearances, netting twice and setting up a further three goals in the Championship.

Albion will resume training in England today after their warm-weather training camp in Spain, with an eye firmly set on their trip to Sunderland on Monday 12 December.

And with Dinagana returning to training, and several other notable names marking returns from the sidelines, Croberan will expect his side to hit the ground running as they look to climb the Championship table.

The Express and Star report stated: “The Baggies hope to have Grady Diangana in training having nursed long-term absentees Semi Ajayi and Daryl Dike back to fitness, the latter pair featured in the club’s 1-0 friendly defeat to Elche on Friday.”

Raring to go

The return of Diangana is a timely boost for Corberan, who will hope his side can kick-start their Championship return with three points this time next week.

Having climbed out of the relegation zone following three consecutive wins before the World Cup, the Spaniard will look towards the likes of Diangana for goals and assists.

The 24-year-old had shown he has the quality to post some big numbers for the Baggies, as he scored eight goals and assisted a further seven times during his initial loan spell at the club when they managed to achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2019/20.

Since then though, Diangana’s form has dipped, albeit in a side languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League, and the midfielder will look to improve on his five goals in 72 appearances at the club since he made a move permanent.

The ex-West Ham player could be a crucial part of Corberan’s plans at The Hawthorns, and his return from the sidelines could prove a big boost to the team.

In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan should stop his side’s pursuit of Cameron Archer in the January transfer window following a recent transfer development.
