Chris Lepkowski thrilled as West Brom close to finalising deal for Lewis O’Brien
Chris Lepkowski says Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien would be an “excellent addition” to the West Brom squad in the January transfer window.
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas reported on Twitter that the 24-year-old midfielder is close to joining the Baggies on loan for the rest of the season.
O’Brien joined Forest from Huddersfield during the summer and has made 13 appearances in the Premier League so far, scoring one goal.
“One of the few players I’ve seen West Brom linked with this January who genuinely improves the squad. Would be an excellent addition,” wrote Lepkowski on Twitter.
Superb addition
O’Brien would be a terrific signing for the club.
He has got loads of experience playing in the Championship and was a hero at Huddersfield. Corberan has previously worked with him at Huddersfield and he will know how to get the best out of him.
The Baggies have a good squad and as such, they don’t need a major overhaul. But, they need one or two quality additions that can help them secure promotion.
O’Brien can do that. He is a technically gifted midfielder and should seamlessly fit in at the Hawthorns.

Forest are looking to trim the squad following the arrivals of Gustavo Scarpa, Danilo and Chris Wood, and they’re offloading some of their players to balance the books.
O’Brien has started in six games in the Premier League, but he hasn’t made the starting XI since their 4-0 defeat against Leicester City at the beginning of October.
A move to the Hawthorns would be beneficial for his career. He will enjoy his football again under his previous manager, and the move will suit all parties involved.
In other West Brom news, this striker has been spotted at Birmingham New Street ahead of joining the Baggies.
