West Brom transfer news as talks ongoing with Nathaniel Chalobah

West Brom are in talks to sign Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah as the Baggies look to secure a late signing in the January window, as reported by The Daily Mail (28 January, page 113).

Express and Star journalist Lewis Cox reported on 27 January that such reported links are wide of the mark, but it seems the Baggies haven’t given up on the chase.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been with the Cottagers since 2021 and Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella reported on 27 January that the Baggies aim to secure his services on an 18-month deal.

Interesting

Cox reported on 27 January that the player is “unavailable” in the January transfer window but he will be a great signing for the Baggies if they can pull off the deal.

Chalobah has got vast experience and has won promotion twice with both Watford and Fulham. He has had four separate loan stints in his career, and he knows the demands of Championship football very well.

Definitely, it can be expected that he will know the standard required to take the Baggies to the Premier League.

He has got fantastic technical abilities and can forge a strong partnership alongside the likes of Okay Yokuslu and Jayson Molumby.

West Brom

He has made only four Premier League appearances for Fulham and could be lured to join the Baggies.

Having said that, West Brom are going through a parlous financial situation. The Baggies have already taken loans to run the club on a daily basis, while their owner keeps on missing deadlines for repayment.

Carlos Corberan has done a terrific job at the club, but he needs help. Chalobah would be a fantastic addition, but doubts remain whether the Baggies can actually get him.

In other West Brom news, this striker has been spotted at Birmingham New Street ahead of joining the Baggies.
