Kevin Campbell delivers ‘win’ verdict amid recent off-the-field West Brom news

We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…

Kevin Campbell believes it’s a “win” for West Brom’s fans after it was announced The Hawthorns would be granted Asset of Community Value (ACV) status.

The Baggies announced the AVC status on 19 January and chief executive Ron Gourlay has suggested in adds a “further layer of protection” for the club’s home.

Campbell believes the fans base will be delighted with the news due to the history and length of time the club has been at The Hawthorns.

“I think it is, I think the fans will be happy with that. The Hawthorns has been West Brom’s stadium for a long time and they don’t want to move,” Campbell exclusively told West Brom News.

“There’s a lot of history at that football club and I think that’s a win for the fans at this moment in time.”

It’s certainly good news to hear about the ACV status at The Hawthorns. With the uncertainty off the pitch at the moment concerning Guochuan Lai, it’s good to know that the stadium won’t be used in any future sales or ownership proposals.

The performances on the pitch are detracting the issues off of it at the moment – and the longer Carlos Corberan keeps the feel-good factor at The Hawthorns, the better.

In other West Brom news, this striker has been spotted at Birmingham New Street ahead of joining the Baggies.
