Carlos Corberan sends message to West Brom squad ahead of Championship showdown
West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has sent a message to his squad warning against complacency as they aim to extend their season with a playoff place.
The Baggies currently occupy ninth position in the Championship table, five points behind Blackburn Rovers in sixth with both clubs having a game in hand over Millwall who sit directly above Rovers.
Corberan was very satisfied with the application of his players in last weekend’s stalemate with the Lions, effectively setting the template for what needs to follow in the coming weeks in order to have any chance of securing a Wembley shot at glory to play in the Premier League.

The Spanish coach was firm with his message to the squad that they don’t stop pushing toward the objective of a playoff spot in the Championship table, as reported by the Express and Star.
“My mentality is that we have 24 points to play for and I want to see the team compete until the end to add the maximum number of points that we can.”
“And we finish after the Swansea game we will see, while fighting for everything, in which position we will finish.”
“It is our responsibility to put the same level of effort that we put today in every single game that we are going to play.”

Finding form
With three wins and two draws from the last six Championship fixtures, the building blocks are in place to deliver a strong finish to the regular season, especially with the formidable record that the Baggies have at The Hawthorns.
Eight league games remain with only three of those at home so the key to a playoff push will be found on the road.
Corberan believes that his team is ready to deliver as long as they can match the standards and intensity as shown against Millwall.
Just one goal was conceded in those last six games which is an excellent record, providing the base for the team to attack and secure the necessary results.
If Daryl Dike and company can deliver the goods upfront, it will go a long way to securing the maximum return of points, as possible, that the boss is striving for.
A fight to the finish is exactly what Coberan is intending.
In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened and may even leave for free.
