West Brom duo Matt Phillips and Grady Diangana unlikely to return this season despite relegation push – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom duo Matt Phillips and Grady Diangana have very less chances of returning to fitness this season, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has stated that despite the Baggies fighting for promotion and manager Carlos Corberan needing his best players available, he must not be counting on either to return.
The official line from the club is that they’re not expected back for the promotion run, but it is often hard to put a definite timeline on the return of long-term injuries.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Bartley’s condition, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “Based on the nature of each’s injury, a significant thigh injury for Phillips near the tendon of the muscle and foot ligament surgery for Diangana.
“This means that each is very likely out for the rest of the season.“
In January, it was revealed that Phillips will be spending three months on the sidelines as his quad injury was worse than initially feared. [Express & Star]

He then saw a specialist within a few days and received news of him perhaps missing the rest of the season.
In March, Corberan confirmed that Diangana would need surgery which jeopardised his involvement in the remainder of the matches until May.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have sent scouts to track an in-demand defender who’s set to leave as they begin planning for the summer transfer window.
