Jeff Stelling and Alan McInally fume at West Brom v Stoke live on Sky Sports today

Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling and Alan McNally fumed live on air at the torrid away form of West Brom after they fell behind to Stoke on Saturday [15 April].

The Baggies are yet to win away from home in the Championship since their 3-2 win over Luton Town on January 23 – a dreadful run of seven games and they fell behind yet again on Saturday when Jacob Brown bundled in from close range.

And Stelling and McInally provided their reaction live on Sky Sports fuming at the Baggies’ way form which could put a massive dent on their faint Championship play-off aspirations.

“West Brom struggle to reproduce their home form on their travels,” Stelling said live on air. [15 April, 15:51]

McInally, left in dismay at the Albion’s form responded by saying: “Spot on, Jeff, absolutely. I think they’ve only got one point from their last six away games, it’s not good enough.”

Poor

When you’re battling to make the playoffs in the Championship, away form is just as crucial as the points picked up at home.

West Brom have not achieved that one bit in recent weeks, hence their current position in the table currently looking ahead at the likes of Middlesbrough, Millwall and Luton Town who can certainly boast about their own tremendous consistencies.

It is seven away games without a win now which certainly isn’t good enough as McInally has rightfully claimed and Carlos Corberan and his men are seeing their faint hopes of making it disintegrating with every passing week.

The club have not been helped by the many of their key players suffering from long injury layoffs in recent weeks which has only depleted Corberan’s thin squad even further.

Failure to reach the playoffs will be damaging for the club, but there is still a huge chance seeing as they are only a few wins and results going their way from miraculously making, so all is not lost. But, they’ve got to turn around their poor form.

In other West Brom news, the Baggies have sent scouts to track an in-demand defender who’s set to leave as they begin planning for the summer transfer window.
