West Brom attacker Karlan Grant still at risk of further setbacks – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom attacker Karlan Grant may still need some more time before he can play the entire 90 minutes regularly for the Baggies, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
According to the injury expert, facing setbacks after returning from muscular injuries are normal and it all depends on how the physios are handling the situation behind the scenes.
Grant was ruled out with a quad injury and has played 16 and 28 minutes against Rotherham and Queens Park Rangers respectively over the past few days.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Grant’s condition and the possibility of him playing the entire game, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “It all depends on how he responds to increases in intensity which are likely what has caused his setbacks thus far.
“Setbacks are inherent in injury rehabilitation, particularly with muscular injuries in high-load areas.
“There’s never a guarantee for it not to happen again but the setbacks may make the physio staff go even more conservative with his rehab plan.“

Grant has had an underwhelming season for the Baggies in front of goal, finding the back of the net on three occasions in 25 games.
His last strike came in the FA Cup in January and to find his last league goal, we will have to go all the way back to August where he netted in the 1-1 draw against Wigan.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have started plans for the summer window as they’ve sent scouts to track an in-demand defender with an exit on the cards.
