Super Computer shares new West Brom promotion prediction after loss v Sheffield United

West Brom currently stand a 9% chance of making the Championship play-off places after their 2-0 loss to Sheffield United, according to Five-Thirty-Eight and their Super Computer.

Carlos Corberan’s side sit on 63 points – two points off Sunderland in sixth – following the defeat at Bramall Lane on Wednesday (26 April), with just two fixtures against Norwich and Swansea remaining in their season.

The Super Computer has predicted the Baggies will finish on 66 points, three points off Millwall in sixth position, with Coventry, Middlesbrough and Luton Town claiming the other three playoff spots.

Five-Thirty-Eight have put West Brom’s chances of securing promotion to the Premier League at a meagre 2% following the disappointing defeat to the Blades.

Last chance saloon

According to the Super Computer’s prediction, West Brom will need to win both of their upcoming matches and rely on a favourable goal difference compared to Millwall if they wish to secure a top-six spot.

It is going to be an extremely tough ask for Corberan’s side to rally from their consecutive defeats in the Championship over the last week, especially considering the tough upcoming games.

Both Norwich and Swansea see their playoff hopes hanging by a thread and will come out all guns blazing in an attempt to take all three points from the Baggies.

Without Daryl Dike in attack and seemingly lacking in leadership across the pitch, West Brom are very much on the back foot in regards to nicking the final playoff spot.

Luton Town and Middlesbrough are already guaranteed spots in the playoffs, but as many as seven teams could nick either of the last two places.

If Corberan were to somehow mastermind two wins in the coming week, it still might not even be enough to get into the top six.

In other West Brom news, a first-team player could be out until June if his injury return goes to plan, according to an injury expert.
