West Brom midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah to remove protective boot once ankle ligaments begin to recover – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has damaged his ankle ligament which is why he’s wearing a protective boot, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert believes that once he’s on the track to recovery, the boot will no longer be needed as the work will begin on getting him back to full fitness.
Carlos Corberan said towards the end of April [Birmingham Live] that he will be wearing the boot for a week and it’s understood that once it’s off, the physios will begin to work with him.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Dike’s injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “Chalobah has ankle ligament damage and he will begin to wean out of the boot as he’s able to and as the ligaments progress begin with their healing.
“The length from that point to normal training depends on the specific injury and how he responds to physio which will consist of progressively maintaining or advancing the range of motion, strength, movement mechanics, and neuromuscular control.”
The 28-year-old last featured for the Baggies in a 2-0 win against Blackpool on 18 April – a game in which he played for 40 minutes.
Corberan has yet to confirm whether or not he will be available for the game against Swansea on 8 May and any potential play-off fixtures.
In other West Brom news, a Sky Sports pundit is now fearing for Baggies’ promotion question after news emerged that has dealt a huge blow to Carlos Corberan.
