Carlos Corberan sends West Brom message as Championship season ends
West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has sent a message to the club’s supporters following the unsuccessful end to the Championship season.
He thanked the fans for the backing given to the squad over the course of the 46-game campaign which will be repeated once again, next time around.
Their playoff aspirations came to an abrupt end following the last-gasp 3-2 defeat against Swansea City, resulting in a ninth-place finish in the Championship table.

Corberan sent a message to the Baggies supporters, from his Twitter account, at the conclusion of a long, hard season for all at The Hawthorns.
“Disappointed because we couldn’t give you everything you deserve. Big thanks for your commitment and incredible support to the team.”
Onwards and upwards
Despite just falling short, West Brom should be reasonably content with how their season unfolded and particularly with the impact of Corberan.
When the Spanish coach took on the job in October, Albion were in 23rd place in the table and facing a drop to the third tier but that situation was soon rectified.
An onward and upward journey followed but the slow start combined with a horrendous injury list meant that securing a top-six finish was always going to be a tall order.
A decent run of form was put together in the final weeks but the back-to-back defeats against Sunderland and Sheffield United made it too difficult in the end and that was confirmed by the loss in south Wales on Monday.
Corberan now plans to get to work on the new campaign right away, once he has established the finer details with club chiefs, and he has earned the backing for a full season of his own with the aim of returning West Brom to the Premier League.
