West Brom transfer news as Karlan Grant sale wanted at The Hawthorns

Karlan Grant could be sold by West Brom this summer, despite still having three years left on his current deal with the Baggies, as reported by Express and Star.

The out-of-favour 25-year-old was set to move to Swansea on loan in the January transfer window before the move broke down and ideally, they would like to get rid this summer.

The centre-forward has been attracting interest from Rangers as Michael Beale looks to continue to strengthen his squad.

West Brom

Grant made 31 appearances in the Championship for the Baggies this season, however, started just 18 games, and was only able to score on three occasions.

Albion’s business early on during the transfer window will be dictated by the market and the club must consider reasonable offers for any members of the playing squad.

Goodbye, Grant

The centre-forward did not enjoy a positive season in a West Brom shirt and if the club receive a fair offer for Grant, it is likely the centre-forward will be off.

The Englishman’s five goals in all competitions all came before September and Grant hasn’t found the back of the net since 30 August, when he scored in the Championship during a 1-1 draw away at Wigan. However, with the player still having three years remaining on his current contract, the Baggies will be able to command some sort of fee for him.

West Brom

Any interested club, such as Rangers, will likely still need to pay West Brom at least a few million to take the striker away from The Hawthorns. This fee would be useful to Carlos Corberan as the funds can then be used in the transfer market.

With Corberan and Ian Pearce, who has just been promoted to head of football operations, set to outline a strategy for the summer, they will want to have the futures of players such as Grant resolve quickly so they know what they are working with.

In other West Brom news, transfer news has emerged revealing the club are set to make a mistake.
