Grady Diangana decision made – West Brom confirmed XI v Sheffield Wednesday

Carlos Corberan has named his West Brom starting line-up to face Sheffield Wednesday at The Hawthorns in the Championship on Tuesday.

As confirmed by the club’s X account, Corberan made just one change to the side which beat Preston North End away, with Grady Diangana moving to the bench for Brandon Thomas-Asante.

On the back of a 4-0 victory, the Baggies will look to build momentum against the struggling Sheffield Wednesday side to push themselves into a playoff spot.

Momentum

The Baggies’ 4-0 win at Deepdale was their best performance of the campaign to date, and Corberan will be eager to build on this momentum to try and see the Baggies into a playoff spot.

A big win could see the side move as high as fourth, albeit just temporarily with other fixtures yet to be played. However, despite a middling start to the season, the Baggies will back themselves against bottom-of-the-league Wednesday, who have managed just two points.

John Swift is a man in fine form this season, with four goals in the Championship, but would have been frustrated not to get on the score sheet at Preston.

West Brom

At Deepdale, West Brom were dominant against the title-chasers. Despite having less of the ball, Corberan’s side peppered Freddie Woodman’s goal with 19 shots, and the boss would have been reassured by having four different goalscorers.

This clash is the perfect opportunity to build on that win and start picking up the points. The Baggies’ next two fixtures are against fellow playoff-pushers Birmingham City and Plymouth Argyle, so missing out on three points against the struggling Owls will be a big opportunity missed.

However, based on the weekend’s result, most would favour West Brom to bring the points back to Birmingham.
