Chris Lepkowski slams ‘outrageous’ Coventry City ticket prices v West Brom
Chris Lepkowski has slammed Coventry City for their “outrageous” decision to charge West Brom fans £37 a ticket for their upcoming match.
West Brom make the short trip to Midlands rivals Coventry on 30 October and have been allocated 3,000 tickets in the away end at CBS Arena.
As per Albion’s official website (6 October), seats are priced at £37 for adults, £32 for senior citizens, 18-21s and students, and £15 for Under-18s.
Speaking on The Liquidator Podcast (10 October), former Birmingham Mail reporter Lepkowski said: “For a televised game, it’s an outrageous amount to charge people.
“Let’s not sugarcoat it – it’s a really bad look. But they’ll do it because they can because people will buy tickets.”
Shame on Coventry
As ex-Baggies employee Lepkowski says, clubs will get away with charging increasingly more money for tickets as they know they will sell – a televised game or not.
It is a staggering amount to charge supporters, particularly while going through a cost-of-living crisis.
Some will put forward the argument that those diehard fans don’t have to purchase a ticket – following your football club is a luxury, after all.
But it should not be that way. Supporters quite simply should not be taken advantage of for wanting to watch their team play a local rival.

It would be easy for Albion to reciprocate by upping prices for away fans in the reverse fixture at The Hawthorns in March, but that would send out the wrong message.
The sooner all Championship clubs fall in line with the twenty’s plenty campaign, the better.
In other West Brom news, Carlos Corberan must accept his share of the blame for the Baggies’ defeat to Birmingham City.
