Nigel Quashie sings praises of ‘first class’ Carlos Corberan on one-year anniversary of West Brom appointment

Former West Brom midfielder has heaped praise on Carlos Corberan on the one-year anniversary of his appointment as manager.

The Baggies posted a celebratory post for the Spaniard as he celebrates 12 months since taking charge at The Hawthorns, with a 2-0 win at QPR marking the occasion 24 hours prior.

And with fans delighted at the progress the club has made under his leadership and guidance, Quashie took to his personal Twitter account (25 October) to urge fans to continue supporting him for all the work he has done.

“With everything that’s been going on around the club off the pitch he’s conducted himself and represented the players and staff with dignity,” he said.

“His commitment and passion to work with what he’s got has been first class.

“Keep supporting this man Baggies.”

Long road

It has been a really long and hard road for West Brom over the last year, but the work that Corberan has done has been nothing short of sensational.

He came into the club with the Baggies rock bottom of the Championship table at a time where people were expecting us to compete for promotion, and he took us to the brink of the playoffs despite barely being backed by the board and having limited options.

West Brom

Corberan made it work and has continued to do so this season despite a host of injury problems and there isn’t a single West Brom fan who isn’t sure that we have the right man in charge of the footballing stuff at the club.

The board and ownerships still need changing, but with the right backing and support we have the right man to lead us back to the Premier League and hopefully there is more good times to come.
