West Brom need ‘Miracle’ for Semi Ajayi to be fit v Coventry City after ‘Very Serious’ Cedric Kipre injury
Carlos Corberan has admitted that West Brom need a “miracle” for Semi Ajayi to be fit to face Coventry after Cedric Kipre suffered a “very serious” injury.
The Baggies claimed a 2-0 win over QPR on Tuesday night(24 October) but Kipre landed awkwardly and now looks set for a long-term spell on the sidelines with a knee problem.
Ajayi missed the game with an ankle injury after re-injuring himself in the draw with 0-0 draw with Plymouth, and the boss confirmed it would be a “miracle” if he was available for the next game on Monday with the Sky Blues.

“Ajayi played the last week ten minutes at the end of the game at the weekend and he suffered an injury in the ankle,” he said, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
“On Monday Ajayi came into training and he couldn’t walk. He turned his ligament in the ankle. It will be a miracle if he is ready for Coventry.”
Nightmare
The squad right now is down to the total bare bones and the match-day squad for the win over Queens Park Rangers saw six academy graduates, with five of them under the age of 20.
There are so many players right now out injured and none of them seem to be easy injuries to deal with, and yet somehow Corberan has got this team up in the playoff positions and competing for promotion.

Defensively the team has been so strong despite all the injury concerns, and the credit has to go to the manager for that. The fans are appreciative but know that at some point it will be out of his control because this amount of injuries is just completely unsustainable.
Coventry have been struggling so far this season so the Baggies may be able to come away with some success, but if these issues carry over into 2024 then we simply have to be active in the January window to help the manager.
This is another chapter to this injury nightmare, yet Corberan is keeping morale and belief high. What a man.
