West Brom could now ask for takeover bids to be made - Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Brom columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns...
Dan Plumley has insisted that West Brom could now ask for all interested parties to make official takeover bids as they look to push the process forward.
It comes after Mark Miles confirmed in the latest Albion Assembly Meeting Minutes that talks were ongoing with numerous parties with NDAs now in place.
The finance expert did, however, admit that it is crucial for the club to make sure that any interested parties not only have the funds to complete a takeover, but to push them forward too.
“It depends on how the selling club in this instance are approaching these things,” he exclusively told West Brom News.
“You can get to a situation whereby you could look at asking everyone to make a bid and then you look through it, you could look at one particular party taking a front runner and looking at an exclusivity period, it does work in a number of ways.

“I think from a selling club point of view, what you absolutely want to make sure, is that the people and the interested parties, whoever they are, have got the necessary funds and the financial ability to enact a takeover, but to take the club forward too.
“That’s what I would be looking for, it can work a number of ways, it doesn’t have to be one party taking the front-running situation, but you’ve got to make sure that all of those parties in the mix are credible and that can take time if you need to.”
In other West Brom news, Plumley has also predicted that a change of ownership is needed at The Hawthorns
