West Brom takeover verdict shared as lawyer spotted at The Hawthorns - Finance Guru

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive West Brom columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns...

Dan Plumley has insisted that the presence of David Hinchcliffe at West Brom games could be a sign that a potential takeover is moving forward at The Hawthorns.

Adrian Goldberg reported on Monday 6 November that the top sports lawyer, described as a legend in the football takeover scene, was spotted alongside Xu Ke.

The finance guru admitted that people will now naturally put two and two together, with a takeover said to be critical to move the club forward now.

“These are little things that people will always spot along the way,” he exclusively told West Brom News.

“If you’ve got a fairly high-profile figure that has been involved in a number of football takeovers attending a game, a guest of the board potentially, people will naturally put two and two together.

We know there is a takeover situation in and around the scenes at West Brom and we have spoken at length in the past about how in many ways that is critical to moving the club forward, so it stands to reason.

You are then stacking the logical assumptions up with it, of course, we’ll not know the ins and outs until any of that gets disclosed, but certainly, you can see why they are putting two and two together.”

In other West Brom news, Plumley has also predicted that a change of ownership is needed at The Hawthorns
