Journalist shares details on Carlos Corberan ‘blow’ ahead of West Brom v Leicester City
West Brom likely being without Jed Wallace against Leicester City is a “real blow” for Carlos Corberan, according to journalist Lewis Cox.
Wallace injured his shoulder early on in Tuesday’s (28 November) 1-0 win at Cardiff City and was unable to shake it off.
The 29-year-old was replaced by Brandon Thomas-Asante after 21 minutes and is now considered a major doubt for the clash with Leicester.
In a video update posted on Twitter [28 November], Express & Star reporter Cox said: “Carlos hadn’t spoken to the medics by the time he’d spoken to us, but he’d had a quick word with Jed and he said he couldn’t handle the pain.
“They don’t know the extent of it yet but he’ll definitely be a doubt for Leicester on Saturday, which is a real blow.”
Depth
Given how much pain Wallace was in, you cannot fancy his chances of being fit for the visit of Leicester in the early kick-off on Saturday (2 December).
Wallace has been in very good form for Albion this season, having scored twice and assisted three more in 18 Championship appearances.
However, the fact Thomas-Asante was brought on and performed well up top is a positive for Corberan, who can now make full use of his squad depth.

That was only highlighted further with the introductions of Matt Phillips, Tom Fellows, Jayson Molumby and Josh Maja at the Cardiff City Stadium.
While being without Wallace against Leicester is a blow, West Brom can still go into that match with confidence of taking a point or more.
Injuries at this point in the season are inevitable, but hopefully Wallace is soon back to full fitness and contributing to this promotion push.
In other West Brom news, a BBC reporter has shared details on whether Albion will be forced to sell players in January.
