Brandon Thomas-Asante call made amid three changes – West Brom predicted XI v Rotherham United

West Brom will be looking to respond to successive 2-1 Championship defeats when they travel to Rotherham United on Tuesday (12 December).

Albion’s impressive form came to a halt with a late loss at home to Leicester City, followed by another one-goal defeat at Sunderland last time out.

However, a meeting with the division’s bottom side at New York Stadium is an ideal opportunity for Carlos Corberan’s men to get back on track in midweek.

Corberan will be forced into at least one change for the showdown in Yorkshire as Josh Maja sustained an injury against Sunderland.

Tom Fellows was brought on in Maja’s place at the Stadium of Light, but he has yet to start a league game for the Baggies this campaign.

Brandon Thomas-Asante is the most obvious choice to lead the line as he aims to build on the goal he netted as a sub against Sunderland.

The three-man attacking midfield of Jeremy Sarmiento, John Swift and Grady Diangana will likely remain unchanged, with Matt Phillips sidelined for the best part of the rest of the season.

However, Corberan will surely consider recalling Okay Yokuslu alongside Alex Mowatt after the Turkey international served a ban last time out.

That would see Jayson Molumby drop out of the XI after he was recalled in one of four changes against Sunderland.

There could also be a change in the back-line, with Semi Ajayi pushing for inclusion in place of Kyle Bartley. Should that be the case, it will be Ajayi’s 150th Albion appearance.

This is the third of eight games in the space of a month, but Darnell Furlong and Conor Townsend should retain their places at full-back, with Alex Palmer getting the nod in goal.

In other West Brom news, an Aston Villa fan could now have a say in the takeover situation at The Hawthorns.
