Doctor shares injury news on West Brom attacker John Swift

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...

West Brom midfielder John Swift has not suffered a setback to his calf post his injury lay-off, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Baggies staff have just been methodical with the 28-year-old who spent over a month on the sidelines.

He was out with a calf injury and that muscle is easy to overload after a setback, which is perhaps why the club have taken a methodical approach.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Dike’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

Sounds like his absence was precautionary which isn’t too surprising following an extended layoff and a calf injury.

The calf is easy to overload after recovering from an injury so I can see where they are coming from.

Leaving him out for a game sounds like good, proactive management.

Swift has made 15 appearances for the Baggies in the Championship this season, playing a plethora of positions.

Despite being an attacking midfielder by trade, Swift has featured as a number nine as well as a left winger.

Carlos Corberan will be hoping that the 28-year-old is back in action for the game at the weekend against Middlesbrough.

In other West Brom news, a near £7billion development may shape the club’s January plans with Carlos Corberan to be demanding.
