West Brom ace Matt Phillips injury update shared by Doctor post surgery
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom attacker Matt Phillips had to undergo surgery on his hamstring to reduce chances of a re-injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he will be out of action for the next five months and is not expected back in first-team training until April at the earliest.
The injury was deemed to be closer to the tendon which meant that surgery was needed, ruling him out for nearly the rest of the season.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Philipps’ situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:
“This is a bad one and is going to rule him out for months, not just weeks, which is a blow to everyone concerned.”
“Surgery was decided on after visiting a second specialist and the injury was deemed closer to the tendon.
“In this case, surgery can help reduce re-injury concerns but his timeline looks to be around five months now.
“So, it’s safe to rule him out of first-team training until April, at the earliest.“

Carlos Corberan will certainly be missing the Scotsman’s services as he was among his first names on the team sheet.
He’s played 19 league games for the Baggies this term – scoring three goals and providing three assists.
His versatility has also been key as he’s played as a left-wing-back, right-wing-back, left-winger and striker.
Given the fact he’s 32, it remains to be seen whether or not he’s at the club next season.
In other West Brom news, a near £7billion development may shape the club’s January plans with Carlos Corberan to be demanding.
