West Brom players now simply have to deliver as journalist shares Leeds United update
The Hawthorns now looks set to be sold out when West Brom host Leeds United in the Championship on Friday (29 December).
Express & Star reporter Lewis Cox posted on Twitter on Thursday (28 December) that Leeds are bringing 2,000 supporters down for the game.
There were around 250 tickets remaining in the home end at the time of that tweet being sent, and it is unlikely any of those will remain.
“Fewer than 250 tickets left to be snapped up for visit of Leeds. Set for another sell-out,” Cox tweeted.
“Leeds bringing 2,000, so set for higher gate than Boxing Day.”
When you also factor in that the game has been selected for live Sky coverage, there will be plenty of focus on Albion’s players.
With all that attention, the last thing we need is for the Baggies to fail to turn up in what is a massive game in the play-off picture.
The official capacity of The Hawthorns is 26,850, while their highest attendance this season to date was 25,086 against Norwich City.
West Brom managed to get the job done in that 1-0 win over the Canaries earlier this week, and now they are seeking back-to-back victories in front of the biggest crowd yet.

As ever, the top half of the division is extremely congested, with just five points between West Brom in fifth and Norwich in 12th.
Sunderland and Hull City are only three points behind, meanwhile, so a loss to Leeds could see that gap on the chasing pack completely close.
This is as pressurised a game as it comes with the stands packed and the game being watched by millions on TV.
However, on the basis of what we have seen over the majority of the 24 Championship games this season, there is no reason why Albion cannot deliver.
In other West Brom news, the takeover silence at The Hawthorns over the past few weeks has now reached deafening levels.
