Carlos Corberan makes two changes, John Swift decision made – confirmed West Brom XI vs Leeds United

West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has named his starting line-up for Friday’s (29 December) Championship clash with Leeds United at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Norwich City on Tuesday (26 December), tightening their grip on a top-six spot.

Corberan has made two changes from that contest, as confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account [29 December].

Republic of Ireland international Jayson Molumby comes into the XI following a run of substitute appearances, with John Swift dropping down to the bench.

The other change from the Norwich match is in the heart of defence as Semi Ajayi is given the nod over the benched Kyle Bartley.

Momentum

West Brom confirmed earlier in the day that this match is now officially sold out, which only adds to the excitement levels.

The late kick-off at The Hawthorns, plus the fact the Sky Sports cameras are there, will hopefully help generate a brilliant atmosphere.

West Brom

It would be wrong to bill this the Baggies’ biggest game of the season because, quite simply, every game is now seemingly bigger than the last.

After a recent sticky patch, the win over Norwich a few days ago has helped kick-start West Brom’s campaign.

Corberan’s men now have a chance to rebuild some momentum and ensure there is some breathing space on the chasing pack in the race for a top-six finish.

Beating Leeds in front of a packed crowd in front of the watching millions would be quite the way to go about doing that.

The line-up named by Corberan is a strong one, and there is no reason why the Baggies cannot make it back-to-back wins for the first time since November.

In other West Brom news, Albion’s players now have to deliver against Leeds after news that emerged this week.
