David Prutton predicts result of West Brom Championship showdown v Blackburn Rovers for Sky Sports
David Prutton has shared his prediction for Saturday’s afternoon clash between West Brom and Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns (13 January).
The Baggies enter the contest with the Rovers fresh off their comfortable 4-1 FA Cup third-round win over Aldershot Town on Sunday (7 January) but will be hoping to right the wrongs of their disappointing last Championship outing.
Carlos Corberan’s men suffered a 1-0 defeat to Swansea City in Wales on New Year’s Day and must win on Saturday to keep their place in the Championship play-off places.

And Prutton, sharing his predictions for Sky Sports (10 January) tips the Baggies to record a 2-1 win over a Blackburn side languishing just seven points away from the relegation spots.
Boost
West Brom have been struggling for form in recent weeks with two defeats in their last four Championship games, including their last clash with Swansea to kick off the New Year.
However, wins against Norwich and Leeds United before then certainly showed that Corberan’s men are worth their mettle and their strong home form, winning eight of their 13 games at The Hawthorns makes them favourites for Saturday.

Losing Jeremey Sarmiento to promotion rivals Ipswich was a huge blow, but Corberan knows and trusts the squad he has and with Daryl Dike coming back into the fold, in a goalscoring mood too, is a big boost to the team.
Blackburn have been struggling massively this season, with four defeats and a draw from their last five games, and with West Brom set for their first game at The Hawthorns of 2024, the atmosphere could prove too difficult for the away team.
Corberan’s men must use the rapturous support to their advantage and pick up their first three points of what should be the year they hopefully achieve their English top-flight ambitions.
In other West Brom news, Guochuan Lai appears to be very close to an exit from the Hawthorns amid a recent development involving a prospective takeover.
