West Brom: Adam Reach may be forced to empty locker at The Hawthorns within days after display v Norwich
West Brom veteran Adam Reach could well be forced to empty his locker within a matter of days after his abject display against Norwich on Saturday (20 January).
The Baggies saw their Championship playoff chase take a huge dent after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to the Canaries at Carrow Road after goals from Josh Sargeant and Jonathan Rowe.
The win lifted them three places to eighth in the table, just two points outside the top six and only four behind West Brom, who remain fifth in the table and their breathing space in the playoffs cut short.
Carlos Corberan’s men had plenty of chances to drag themselves back into the tie but were punished for a lack of ruthlessness but also a lack of quality in attack through the absence of Tom Fellows.
Corberan made the surprise decision to start Reach in the 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday (13 January) and stuck to his decision at Carrow Road, one which proved unfruitful as the 30-year-old proved he may not have the legs required to give the Baggies what they need in their playoff chase.
The Sunday Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop, taking to his personal Twitter account (31 December), shared that Martin Kelly and Reach could be on the move in the January transfer window.
It is believed that both players could quit in January but West Brom are keen to add to their ranks rather than lose players.
It’s no secret that West Brom are going through serious financial constraints right now with their Premier League parachute payments done among other issues.
Despite that, the club still managed to acquire the services of Bristol City forward Andreas Weimann on a temporary loan deal and his impressive cameo against Norwich could well push Reach down the pecking order again.
Reach and Kelly are two of Corberan’s senior players in the squad but both have been blighted by injuries and fitness issues over the past year and their limited minutes and opportunities certainly means their days at the club may be up.
Against Norwich, Reach was nowhere to be seen in his 45 minutes on the pitch, failing to register a single key pass, only touching the ball 21 times, failed to attempt a single cross or long ball whilst winning 33 per cent of his total duels, and was dribbled past twice [SofaScore], given the runaround by Norwich right-back Jack Stacey and the in-form Jonathan Rowe.

Kelly and Reach could well be on considerable pay packages right now and it would make a lot of sense for West Brom to free up space on the wage bill by letting go of both players.
With the January transfer window just days away from shutting to a close, Reach could well be forced to empty his Hawthorns locker.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have suffered yet another injury blow with an update emerging on the condition of Jayson Molumby.
