West Brom transfer news as Deadline-Day exit on cards for Caleb Taylor
Chris Lepkowski has heard whispers that West Brom defender Caleb Taylor could be exit-bound from The Hawthorns before the transfer deadline.
The centre-back has been a fringe player in Carlos Corberan’s squad this season, making the bench several times but mainly being used as a substitute on occasions.
Taking to X on Thursday (1 February), Lepkowski wrote: “A suggestion Taylor may be leaving.”
Bolton have since confirmed the arrival on Taylor on loan, with those suggestions and whispers coming true, with valuable experience on the cards for the young defender now.
Take the opportunity
With little room for Taylor to play with the Baggies, a loan move ahead of the transfer window closing could be imperative for his development this season.
The centre-back is said to be one of the most promising prospects to come out of the West Brom academy but with limited minutes on the pitch, he has not been able to highlight this in the senior team.
Taylor was an incredible asset to Cheltenham Town last season, joining the club on a season-long loan and making 49 appearances before arriving back at The Hawthorns.

It is a shame that Corberan has not given the youngster a chance to properly shine in the team, having only started their 4-1 win over Aldershot Town in the FA Cup in recent weeks.
With Cedric Kipre and Kyle Bartley the preferred centre-back partnership, Erik Pieters waiting in the wings, and Semi Ajayi still to come back from the 2023 African Cup of Nations, a loan move away would be much better for Taylor.
In other West Brom news, a seven-figure deal agreed has been for this starlet to leave The Hawthorns for good on Deadline Day.
