West Brom section off The Hawthorns v Birmingham after Wolves trouble
West Brom look to have made the decision to section off part of the Millenium Corner against Birmingham at The Hawthorns on Saturday 3 February.
The Baggies return to Championship action at home for the first time since the trouble in that area against Wolves in the FA Cup, which led to the game being partly suspended.
In footage shared by Jonny Drury ahead of the game, a Marc Darcy advert can be seen across a large portion of seats, meaning no one could be sat there in the game.
Wolves trouble continues at West Brom
There were shocking scenes in that FA Cup game which nobody accepted, but covering it up does not seem to have gone well amongst the home support.
West Brom are looking to put that behind them with another big derby clash today, with Carlos Corberan and his side firmly focusing on what is ahead with three points on offer.
Tighter control on ticketing is something that is more urgent, given that there were Wolves fans in the home end during that game, with trouble guaranteed if that is the case in any game.
It is all well and good seemingly punishing the home support with this decision, when clubs need to take a longer look at themselves after serious incidents such as these.
Hopefully, the atmosphere isn’t affected too much and given the game ahead, that is certainly not going to be the case with another fiesty derby match on the cards at The Hawthorns.
Bring it on.
