Daryl Dike: Jed Wallace sends message to West Brom striker after incident v Ipswich Town

Jed Wallace has sent a message of support to West Brom teammate Daryl Dike after the striker suffered another injury against Ipswich Town on Saturday 10 February.

Having only returned from a nine-month absence recently, absolute heartbreak struck the American forward 10 minutes after replacing Brandon Thomas-Asante in the second half.

Wallace took to X to offer some words of support for Dike, writing (11 February): “We have a very tight-knit dressing room this season and, although it was a good point yesterday against a really strong team, the general mood of the boys today is disappointment for a loved member of our squad.

“We have all seen how hard he has worked in the last nine months to get back to playing the game he loves. This is a family club and everyone within will support Daryl [Dike] physically and mentally over the coming period.”

Classy message from West Brom ace Jed Wallace

Wallace has proven himself to be a true leader at The Hawthorns, and his classy message on social media is no different.

Dike will need every bit of support available, especially from his teammates around him, who continue to play the sport they love while he is bound to the medical table.

Dike has suffered a nightmare at West Brom since his transfer from Orlando City back in January 2022, having only played 32 appearances in over two years at the club.

The 23-year-old has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the Championship, having netted eight times in between his multiple injuries. However, his abilities are of no use when he is not fit and available.

Everyone at The Hawthorns will be wishing Dike a speedy recovery, especially after the striker sustained more injuries than most players over the last couple of seasons. It is an absolutely devastating outcome and looks to have shadowed a well-earned draw against The Tractor Boys.
