West Brom supporters right to feel angered at shameful QPR ticket stance at Loftus Road

West Brom fans have every right to be fuming following confirmation of the ticket prices for the upcoming away clash with QPR.

Promotion-chasing Albion have an allocation of 1,709 for the midweek evening trip to Loftus Road on March 6.

As announced on Albion’s official website [12 February], some adult tickets have been priced at a shocking £37.

That is for a School End Upper Tier Gold ticket, while it is £31 for School End Upper Tier Silver tickets.

If that is not bad enough, the “restricted view” tickets only have a £2 deduction – so £35 for a seat that does not even guarantee full view of the field.

As a reminder, West Brom charged QPR’s visiting adult supporters £28 in October, while there were also various discounts available.

The Rs are not alone in ripping off Albion fans, of course, and the question has to be asked as to why there is not a reciprocal agreement in place.

It should be determined at the start of a season how much clubs intend to charge other teams so that a fair structure can be put in place.

Instead, many West Brom fans making the trip to the capital will be paying £9 more for a ticket compared to those who made the opposite journey.

While that may not sound like a huge amount, the bigger issue is that some teams feel they can get away with fleecing supporters.

Should Albion not earn promotion this season, hopefully they remember this decision when QPR next visit The Hawthorns.

In other West Brom news, Chris Lepkowski has raised a “problem” with regards to the takeover situation.
