Carlos Corberan could be saved at West Brom as Ivan Juric twist emerges
Nobody can deny that Carlos Corberan has done an incredible job as manager at West Brom, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from turning.
The Baggies are currently sitting in fifth place in the Championship, sitting ahead of Hull City, Coventry City and Norwich City in the play-offs.
The Spaniard has even accomplished this under the guidance of former chairman and owner Lai Guochuan, who could only supply limited resources at The Hawthorns.
Loan transfers have been the only real additions that West Brom have been able to make in recent seasons, and although Mikey Johnston and Andreas Weimann have been sensational since their January arrivals, that is never a long-term solution for any club.
Could West Brom replace Carlos Corberan with Ivan Juric?
However, after Shilen Patel’s takeover of the club, the Baggies have been linked with a move for Torino manager Ivan Juric to replace Corberan amid a fresh start.
This has emerged from The Hawthorns as a massive twist of events, with the majority of fans dumbfounded by the recent news. Corberan’s position may have been spared, though.
As per Calcio Mercato (21 February), “several” Premier League clubs are interested in the Croatian manager and have already tabled offers, as are Serie A current champions Napoli.
West Ham United are the most obvious club who could be keeping tabs on Juric, with David Moyes under heavy pressure after a string of eight matches without a victory in all competitions.
This would suggest that Corberan, much to the delight of most Baggies fans, is safe in his job at The Hawthorns and should not have to worry about being replaced by Patel.

West Brom have the potential to win promotion to the Premier League through the playoffs this season. With wins over Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Norwich, Hull and Coventry, there is certainly no reason to sack the current coach.
The last thing Patel would want from his fans would be for them to turn on him. That could be what happens if his first action as owner is to get rid of Corberan.
