West Brom: Sue Smith gushes over ‘outstanding’ Mikey Johnston v Bristol City live on Sky Sports
Sue Smith gushed over West Brom star Mikey Johnston during the 2-0 Championship win against Bristol City after what he has done since arriving on loan from Celtic in January.
Johnston has scored six goals and picked up one assist in 10 games since joining Albion, and Smith was full of praise for what he has done at The Hawthorns.
With the score level at 0-0, the Sky Sports pundit singled out Johnston for praise, claiming Carlos Corberan’s side should be looking to get him on the ball at any opportunity.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News [16 March, 15:08], Smith shared: “They’re so strong defensively and they’re very good at home. They’re certainly looking to get Johnston on the ball, he’s been outstanding for them and made a real impact.”

Smith’s praise for Johnston has certainly been warranted given the part he has played in keeping Albion in the playoff places as we rapidly head towards the key stage of the season with just eight games to go.
The win at home today will prove a key three points with regard to those playoff places, with Hull City not in action this weekend having presented the opportunity for Corberan’s side to extend their gap, which they have taken.
David Prutton predicted Johnston would have a say in this clash at The Hawthorns, suggesting he could be one of the best-ever January signings made by a Championship side as he lauded the impact the winger has made.
A 2-0 victory for Albion today could be a crucial result, with goals from Tom Fellows and Jed Wallace making the difference, and Johnston will be likely alongside them as a key player in any Premier League promotion push they make with the playoffs the key target.
