West Brom: Two ex-Albion managers in running to be new LMA chairman

Former West Brom managers Darren Moore and Alan Pardew are in the running to be the new League Managers Association (LMA) chair, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on page 71 of its print edition on Friday (22 March) that the former Albion chiefs are up against Emma Hayes, Hope Powell, Martin O’Neill, Gary Rowett, Graham Westley and Chris Turner for the role.

It added that the ballot papers have been sent to all 680 LMA members as the trade union looks to appoint its successor to Howard Wilkinson.

There is no doubt that most West Brom fans would like to see Moore be successful in his bid to become the new LMA chair.

The former Baggies centre-back made more than 100 appearances for the club in the early 2000s before later returning to The Hawthorns as manager.

Moore actually replaced Pardew at the helm in 2018 before some believe he was harshly relieved of his duties towards the back end of the 2019 season.

He was a much popular figure than his predecessor, though, after Pardew endured a miserable time in charge of the club.

It will be interesting to see whether either of the former Albion chiefs manage to land what is an important role in English football.
