West Brom injury news: Doctor shares Jayson Molumby timeline post surgery

West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby will not be facing a delayed return to training post a foot injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that his trying to play through the injury aggravated things further which saw him needing surgery.

He will now not be back until the pre-season training in summer, ruling him out of all games until May.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Molumby’s situation, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said:

It’s a series of things and a systematic rehab is on the cards for Molumby.

“Firstly, he tried to play through the injury with an injection but then needed surgery.

That will delay recovery.

Then surgery on the foot and rehab can be a tricky process where setbacks and nebulous timelines are common.

It sounds like he will be ready to return for training in pre-season.

Molumby to not be part of West Brom promotion push

Initially, there appeared to be chances of him being back in action for the Baggies by early May but that does not seem to be the case anymore.

It’s imperative that the 24-year-old does not rush things and even if he is in a good condition before the end of the season, it makes no sense to make him play.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan

He has not played since New Year’s Day so it’s already next to four months since he’s ruled out and that’s a really long time so it’ll take a while to get him fully up to speed.
