David Prutton predicts result of West Brom clash v Rotherham for Sky Sports
David Prutton has shared his prediction for the Championship clash between West Brom and Rotherham on Wednesday night.
The Baggies were held to a 2-2 draw with relegation-battling Stoke City on Saturday afternoon in their last outing, while Rotherham were officially relegated after defeat to Plymouth on Friday.
Carlos Corberan’s side sit six points above seventth-placed Coventry with five games remaining and look set for a playoff spot, but any slip of form could allow their rivals to steal in.
But while predicting the result of the game for Sky Sports (9 April), Prutton admitted he can’t see that happening and opted for a 2-0 home win at The Hawthorns.
West Brom must be professional, not complacent
There are only five games remaining in the Championship regular season now, and West Brom are in a fantastic position to ensure they progress to the playoffs.
In a two-legged semi-final there aren’t many Baggies fans who will bet against Corberan getting the better of his opponents tactically, but they have to get there first.
Rotherham are already relegated and have nothing to play for at this point, but that doesn’t mean the players won’t be looking to restore some pride and appease their travelling fans.

If the West Brom players go into the game with the mindset that this game is essentially already won then they will underperform and will be susceptible to a bad result.
The manager and the fans will be doing all they can to make sure that isn’t the case, and now it’s down to the players to prove Prutton right and claim a comfortable victory to further cement their spot.
