Wolves want to sign boyhood West Brom fan Aaron Ramsdale in ridiculous transfer update

West Brom fan Aaron Ramsdale wouldn’t even dream of joining Wolves with a ridiculous transfer link emerging this weekend.

The Sun reported on its website on Saturday (20 April) that the Baggies’ West Midlands rivals are lining up a “shock” move for the Arsenal keeper this summer.

It comes as first-choice stopper Jose Sa could be heading out of the door at Molineux, with the newspaper suggesting that he could complete a transfer to the Middle East.

It said Gary O’Neil’s side are currently looking at replacements for the Portuguese international and Ramsdale finds himself on their wish list alongside Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher and Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson.

It’s been a difficult season for the 25-year-old at the Emirates, having lost his place in the starting lineup to David Raya.

With the Spaniard set to make his move from Brentford permanent in the summer, the England international could be likely to leave North London.

But it seems incredibly unlikely that he would make the switch to Wolves after growing up a West Brom fan as a child.

The Stoke-born keeper certainly hasn’t hidden his affection for the Baggies in recent years, either, after video footage emerged of him encouraging the Arsenal fans to do Albion’s iconic “boing boing” celebration after beating Wanderers in 2022.

That will no doubt have made him an unpopular figure at Molineux, making it even more unlikely that the Wolves fans would welcome a move for him when the transfer window reopens.

It’s just a situation that’s never going to happen. Either the Wanderers hierarchy isn’t aware of the history with Ramsdale or the report is completely way off the mark.

While the keeper appears likely to move on from the Gunners at the end of the season, there is simply no chance he’ll be wearing gold come August.
