West Brom boss Carlos Corberan in frame to become new Burnley manager

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan is one of three managers under consideration at Burnley, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The Belgian journalist shared an update on his personal X account on Wednesday (19 June) as Burnley seek a successor to Vincent Kompany.

As well as looking at Corberan, the Clarets are also said to have Ruud van Nistelrooy and another unnamed option among their list of candidates.

West Brom will be concerned about Carlos Corberan rumours

Just when you thought the speculation regarding Corberan and a possible Hawthorns exit had gone, this rumour comes along.

The Spaniard was also in the frame for the Leicester City job [The Athletic], which has now officially been given to Steve Cooper instead.

It is no surprise that Corberan is a man in demand after working wonders with West Brom in his season-and-half at the helm.

Quite whether he would want to leave Albion right now for Burnley is another question, but you can certainly see why he would be tempted.

The cynics among the fanbase will question whether these rumours are the work of Corberan’s agent, but that is surely not the case.

Corberan is one of the finest coaches in the Championship and being linked with high-profile jobs is simply the nature of the beast.

The best thing Albion can do right now is start investing some money into the squad and show Corberan that the club can match his ambitions.

Hopefully Burnley then appoint someone else so that the Baggies can finally set their focus on the 2024-25 campaign.
