Carlos Corberan makes new Okay Yokuslu decision at West Brom after EUROs
West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu will be granted a break by the Baggies boss Carlos Corberan following Turkiye’s elimination from Euro 2024, according to Express and Star.
It is reported on Monday (July 8) that the 30-year-old will return to pre-season training after a rest period, having played an important role for his country, as they reached the quarter-final stage.
The news comes amid reports that West Brom are close to agreeing on a potential transfer with Besiktas as Yokuslu enters the final year of his contract at The Hawthorns [Sercan Dikme].
The Turkish midfielder has been an important player for Albion, featuring in 44 matches last season and helping them reach the Championship play-offs.
Is Okay Yokuslu likely to stay at West Brom
Yokuslu’s future at The Hawthorns is up in the air as he heads into the last year of his contract.
He’s been a key player, helping the team reach the Championship play-offs last season. However, Turkish clubs like Besiktas and Trabzonspor are interested in him, and the idea of returning home might be appealing.
West Brom might also want to sell him now to get some money and invest in new players.

Yokuslu has shown loyalty and has done well in English football, so staying another season could work out great. But a good deal from Turkey and the chance to be closer to home might be hard to pass up.
In the end, his choice will depend on what he wants for his career and what the Baggies need financially.
