West Brom block Okay Yokuslu exit as cheeky discount requested after agreement

Besiktas have failed to reach a formal agreement to secure the services of West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu, according to Ertan Suzgun.

The Play Sport journalist reported via X on 10 July that the Turkish side could not find common ground with the Baggies after trying to secure a discount on their previously-agreed deal in princple.

The 30-year-old midfielder then decided to evaluate different options in this transfer window.

On the social media network X, Suzgun wrote: “Besiktas could not reach an agreement during the negotiations with West Bromwich and the player side for the transfer of Okay Yokuslu, as they requested a discount on the figures previously agreed in principle.

“Okay Yokuslu decided to evaluate different alternatives.”

West Brom must look to get the best value for Okay Yokuslu

The Baggies must look to drive up his price as he is a versatile midfielder who can play in multiple positions, making him a valuable asset for any team.

He is known for his defensive abilities, but he also has the ability to contribute in the final third.

Yokuslu’s versatility allows him to fit into different tactical systems and formations, which is a significant advantage for any team.

His defensive skills are particularly noteworthy, as he excels in breaking up opposition attacks and protecting the defenders behind him.

To drive up his fee, the Hawthorns outfit can highlight his recent performances and his potential to improve and offer him to other clubs to spark a bidding war.

Despite being 30 years old, Yokuslu still has a few more years of top-level football left in him and his experience and skill set make him an attractive prospect for clubs looking to strengthen their midfield.
