West Brom finalise new signing as Italian defender Mo Diomande joins
West Brom has completed the signing of under-21s defender Muhamed Diomande, the club have confirmed.
The Baggies have announced via their official website (10 July) that the centre back has signed a two-year professional deal lasting until 2026.
The Italian defender was released by rivals, Wolves at the end of June and has now completed a switch to the Hawthorns this summer.
West Brom confirm Mo Diomande signing
The Baggies are looking more active in the transfer window this summer with Diomande being the latest to sign with the club.
The 18-year-old has completed a move across the Midlands to sign from Black Country rivals, Wolves on a free transfer.
Diomande will link up with Richard Beale’s Under-21 side ahead of the new campaign with the hope of rising up to Carlos Corberan’s first team.
The Italian defender was one of the key players in the Wolves side which saw him make eight competitive appearances in the U18 Premier League.
Despite not playing in the same position, having lost Max Jenner to Aston Villa this summer, the Baggies will want to build up their academy further.
If Diomande can perform well for the academy sides at West Brom then there is a good chance that he can progress to the matchday squad in the Championship.

In recent years, the likes of Tom Fellows and Alex Palmer become first team regulars showing that there is a pathway there for youngsters.
It is an exciting time for Baggies fans as the club finally seems to be operating well and picking up players with the future in mind.
In other West Brom news, Joe Wildsmith is set to join the Baggies after his Derby County exit.
