West Brom to begin official negotiations for Okay Yokuslu transfer after development

West Brom could now begin official negotiations to sell Okay Yokuslu after he finished up at EURO 2024, according to the Cannock Chronicle.

The newspaper reported in its print edition (13 July, back page) that after Turkey's exploits in the tournament came to an end in the quarter-finals, interest in Yokuslu will only intensify.

Besiktas and Trabzonspor are keen on the midfielder, with the club looking to balance their books against any financial fair play concerns [Sports Digitale, 8 July].

Possible Okay Yokuslu transfer brings uncertainty to West Brom

With pre-season training already underway at The Hawthorns, the future of Yokuslu is something Carlos Corberan will want to have resolved as soon as possible ahead of the new campaign.

Yokuslu was a key player in the Spaniard's side last season as Albion reached the play-offs, but his contractual situation may result in the club sanctioning a transfer rather than losing him for free.

Of the Baggies' new signings this summer, Ousmane Diakite is the only close fit to Yokuslu, a defensive midfielder who could anchor Corberan's side going forward in his place, if needed.

Alex Mowatt signing a new two-year contract maintains continuity from last season, but the options otherwise look threadbare after Yann M'Vila and Nathaniel Chalobah's departures [WBA, 1 July].

Yokuslu's future looks all but certain to be away from The Hawthorns, and unless the Baggies can agree a new deal with their international star, the club will surely encourage bids in their efforts to refresh.
