Okay Yokuslu stance on Trabzonspor transfer shared amid West Brom exit links
West Brom ace Okay Yokuslu would be interested in playing for Trabzonspor this summer, according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
The Sports Digitale journalist reported via X on 19 July that if West Brom and Trabzonspor can agree on a deal, the Turkey international would be open to playing in his home country.
This comes after the midfielder has been consistently linked with a Hawthorns exit since the start of the summer transfer window.
West Brom need to try and keep Okay Yokuslu
Yoksulu was a mainstay of the Baggies’ XI last season and was a hugely important member of Carlos Corberan’s midfield as they fell short in the play-offs.
Although his transfer could help fund some additions this summer [Cannock Chronicle, 13 July], his quality would be very difficult to replace.
Should the Turkey international depart this summer, it would leave Corberan needing to do even more work in the transfer market and replacing someone highly influential to their play-off push last season.
The likes of Besiktas and Hull City have shown interest in Yokuslu [Hull Live, 16 July] and the idea of moving to Trabzonspor seems to have piqued his interest.
Of all those interested, the 30-year-old cannot be allowed to join Hull as it would increase the strength of one of their promotion rivals which isn’t something they’d likely want to do.
Nothing is set in stone yet but, for now, at least, it feels as if Carlos Corberan has quite the fight on his hands to keep the midfielder this summer.
