West Brom fans tear Jayson Molumby to shreds over shock footage – ‘FA will step in and ban him’

West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby punched Mallorca’s Samú Costa in the face in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

After 40 minutes, 24-year-old Molumby was fouled by Mallorca’s Portuguese midfielder, leading to a bit of afters between the two.

Suddenly, both players butted heads, leading to Costa to raise his hands up to the Republic of Ireland international.

There’s no doubt he instantly regretted that though as Molumbu suddenly swung at the opponent and seemed to catch him on the chin before getting him in a headlock and hauling him down to the floor.

The referee called for an early half-time at that point.

West Brom were playing Mallorca in a behind-closed-doors friendly at their Great Barr training ground and at the time of writing (after 72 minutes), the score is 1-0 to the Balearic Island club.

Albion fans on X were shocked by the incident after footage emerged from Spanish broadcaster Esports IB3, with one thinking that the “FA will step in there and ban” Molumby for the incident.

Molumby played just 24 times in the Championship last term after suffering a season-ending foot injury in early January.
