West Brom are interested in signing Isaac Hayden on loan from Newcastle United, according to Mike McGrath.

The Daily Telegraph journalist reported on 8 August that Steve McClaren is interested in adding the 29-year-old to his Jamaica national team.

In terms of club football, there are multiple Championship sides, including the Baggies, QPR and Hull, showing interest.

There has been interest in the Arsenal academy product from the Hawthrons over many years with that now being reignited.

West Brom interest in Isaac Hayden

Darren Witcoop reported a year ago (31 August 2023) that the Baggies wanted the Englishman on loan and that still appears to be the case.

With the restraints being placed on Carlos Corberan in the transfer window, the Spaniard is having to be clever with any signings made.

Hayden would bring plenty of positive experience of the Championship and Premier League to the Hawthorns if he was to sign on loan for the season.

West Brom are particularly light in the midfield area after the departure of Okay Yokuslu earlier in the window to Trabzonspor.

With Jayson Molumby also linked with a move back to Millwall [The Mirror], the Baggies may be left short ahead of the season opener against QPR.

Whether the Irishman stays or leaves, Corberan will still want to bring Hayden in and will be especially frustrated if he joins another Championship rival.
