Ipswich Town submit bid to sign West Brom star Tom Fellows before August 30 deadline
Ipswich Town have submitted an £11million bid to sign West Brom winger Tom Fellows, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reported via its live blog [28 August, 9:26am] that the 21-year-old has attracted interest from Southampton, Everton and Leicester City, with the former having a £10million bid rejected [John Percy].
It is understood that the Saints’ offer was “well below” the player’s market value, but while Carlos Corberan wants to keep hold of Fellows, his hands have been tied during the transfer window.
Tom Fellows to leave West Brom for Ipswich Town?
Given that Southampton’s offer has been swiftly rejected, it is difficult to see how the Tractor Boys’ bid could be accepted, with a difference of just £1million.
The Baggies’ current PSR situation has meant that Corberan has seen many of his key players leave this summer, such as Okay Yokuslu, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Conor Townsend.
It is clear that the manager has no control over which players remain or leave, with some suggesting that there is unrest at the club because of it, but the Spaniard is showing no signs of going anywhere.
Selling Fellows to alleviate PSR concerns, however, could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back this summer, especially if the Baggies are unable to bring in a replacement before 30 August.
The loss of Thomas-Asante already means that Corberan has lost a striker, having been the top scorer over the last two seasons, but Josh Maja looks to have solved that issue almost instantly.

There are few talents at The Hawthorns that would be able to fill Fellows’ boots, though, so fans’ concerns ahead of the transfer window shutting are understood and valid.
He notched four goals and three assists in 33 league appearances this season and has already managed to register three assists in wins over QPR and Stoke City.
In other West Brom news, John Swift must step up for Carlos Corberan following the latest injury update at The Hawthorns.
