West Brom set to be dealt ‘killer blow’ as new bid for Tom Fellows is submitted
Dan Bardell thinks losing Tom Fellows this late in the summer transfer window could be tough for West Brom to deal with.
The 21-year-old has begun the season in electric form, picking up three assists in the Baggies’ opening three Championship games.
This has piqued the interest of multiple Premier League sides with Ipswich Town the latest to submit an £11million bid for the winger [The Sun].
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes Shilen Patel would reinvest any fee received in the squad but it could prove to be a damaging loss.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Bardell said: “They won’t want to lose another player, especially not Tom Fellows.
“If he does get sold for big money a portion of that would be reinvested into the squad. It would still be a killer blow at this point in the window.
“He’s a really talented player who fans really like. If he goes, I’m sure there’s a contingency but he seems guaranteed to play well for West Brom this season where someone else won’t be.
“It would hurt fans to lose him after coming through the window this far, they probably thought they’d get away with it.“
West Brom could lose Tom Fellows to Ipswich Town
The combination between Fellows and Josh Maja at the start of this Championship campaign has been something to keep an eye on.
The duo have combined well, and Carlos Corberan’s side picked up six points from their opening three games, contributing to all but one of the goals scored.
To lose Fellows, especially given that he is only 21, could prove to be detrimental to his side’s prospects for the season early on.

With just days remaining in the window, there would be limited time remaining to replace the academy product which would be an issue.
