Curtis Davies sends message as West Brom complete last-gasp transfer

Curtis Davies has sent a message to new West Brom signing Mikey Johnston after his deadline-day move was confirmed.

The Baggies posted a photo on their official Instagram account (30 August) announcing the permanent signing of their former loanee.

Johnston has signed a four-year contract at The Hawthorns, with Carlos Corberan a key factor behind the move behind done ahead of rivals.

Commenting on the Instagram post, former Albion defender Davies wrote: “Great signing, especially if only £3m too.”

Mikey Johnston transfer is a statement of intent from West Brom

Johnston spent half of last season on loan with the Baggies and managed to contribute to nine goals during his stint with the club.

Corberan solely used the attacker as a left-winger but he has been known to play on the right hand side of the pitch if and when needed.

The former Celtic man was one of the key reasons behind the Baggies’ push for promotion towards the end of last season.

And, despite falling short in the playoff semi-finals, there’s no denying that the club will be out for vengeance this time around.

The Baggies seem to be in a much better position player-wise this term with the likes of Callum Styles [WestBrom.FC] and former Everton ace Lewis Dobbin both arriving at the club.

Even if there are no further moves for West Brom before the 11pm deadline, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Corberan’s men battling for the top six spots when the January transfer window comes around.
