Michael Dawson hits out at Alex Palmer after West Brom loss v Sheffield Wednesday
Michael Dawson believes West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer made it far too easy for Josh Windass to score for Sheffield Wednesday.
The Baggies fell to a 3-2 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on 28 September and succumbed to their first loss of the season.
Carlos Corberan’s men went into the game top of the Championship, something that could be lost by the end of play on 28 September.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News (28 September, 13:01), former Premier League defender Dawson hit out at Palmer, who could’ve done more to stop the goal.
“Alex Palmer gets himself in no-man’s land,” he said.
“Josh Windass puts himself into a position to score goals and the goalkeeper made it easy for him there and he has no chance.”

Palmer has been solid ever since he was given the gloves by Corberan, but it feels as though certain mistakes are now creeping into his game.
Fans even dubbed the keeper as “rotten” following his performance against Portsmouth on 15 September despite the 3-0 win at Fratton Park.
From his most recent showing against Wednesday, it feels as if his form has started to go into a downward spiral.
During the summer window, the Baggies welcomed Joe Wildsmith to their ranks to come in as a back-up to their number one, and he could be eyeing up another chance.
The former Derby man hasn’t yet been afforded the chance to start for the club in the league but did manage to play in the Carabao Cup.
While Wildmsith has no doubt gone to The Hawthorns expecting to be second-fiddle, it feels as if now could be a good time for the goalkeeper to prove his worth and potentially even claim the number one spot as his own.
Of course, a few games can’t define the season of a player but if things continue as they are, Corberan’s hand may be forced.
