Adam Reach trains with new Championship club after West Brom exit

Adam Reach is training with Swansea City having left West Brom at the end of last season, according to BBC Sport.

The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (8 October) that the 31-year-old is working alongside the rest of Luke Williams’ first-team squad in South Wales during the October international break.

Reach left The Hawthorns when his contract expired at the end of last season after three years with the Baggies, having only made five league starts and 17 Championship appearances in his final season under Carlos Corberan.

Alongside the former Albion utility man, Cyrus Christie is also training with the Swans having left Hull City at the end of last season.

What happened to Adam Reach after his West Brom exit?

Reach’s time at The Hawthorns may have come to an end, but it is clear that the 31-year-old still has the ability to be an important player for another club in England’s second tier.

His experience and ability to play in a number of different positions would be a major asset for Swansea, particularly given the fact that Williams’ side is by no means one of the largest in the division.

It makes sense that the Baggies were reluctant to hand the 31-year-old a contract extension last season. Even with Connor Townsend also leaving The Hawthorns, Corberan has plenty of depth at left-back at this moment in time.

Torbjorn Heggem has had an excellent start to life in the Championship while fans are yet to see the best of Gianluca Frabotta who was signed from Juventus this summer but is yet to start a league game this season.

If Reach does agree on terms with Swansea, there will likely be very few Albion fans wishing it was their club who had secured the versatile defender’s signature, but supporters will be equally happy to see him find a new club after a solid spell with the Baggies.

In other West Brom news, some Albion fans have been left baffled by what Corberan did to Devante Cole against Millwall
