Swansea City make new Adam Reach decision after West Brom exit
Adam Reach will spend a second week in training with Swansea City having left West Brom this summer, according to BBC Sport Wales.
The outlet reported via X on Tuesday (15 October) that the Championship side has decided to keep both the 31-year-old and Cyrus Christie in training for a second week as they continue to assess the free agent market.
Reach left The Hawthorns as a free agent at the end of last season, when his contract with Albion expired and has been without a club since, despite having plenty of Championship experience under his belt.
What has happened to Adam Reach after his West Brom exit?
A lot of Albion fans will likely be rather surprised to hear that Reach is still without a club this late in the season.
The 31-year-old was by no means the perfect player and he did struggle for consistent minutes under Carlos Corberan last term, only starting five Championship games, but he certainly still has a lot to offer at the right level.
Whether or not that is in the Championship still is unclear, but Swansea seem to be giving him an excellent opportunity to breathe new life into his career after a difficult few months away from The Hawthorns.
The Baggies’ Championship rivals are desperate for some defensive reinforcements after a mixed start to the season in south Wales and in both Reach and Christie they have two players who know everything there is to know about playing in England’s second tier.
If the 31-year-old does reach an agreement with the Swans, he will reunite with West Brom early in 2025 when Corberan’s side travel to south Wales to face Luke Williams’ side on Saturday 4 January.
In other West Brom news, some Albion fans have been left baffled by what Corberan did to Devante Cole at The Hawthorns this season
